Music Gear that gives a lot for less money!
Occasionally I come across some teams that I think offers a lot of bang for the buck. The following list contains some things which I think is one of the hidden gems as the house artist and musician recording club. Consider bookmarking this page as I am always finding new things.
Best outboard compressor
The FMR Audio RNC-1773. Called the "very good compressor, this unit rocks! This compressor is a great front-end, while the use established tracks or as a mix-bus compressor. The RNC can do everything from gentle compression to heavy squashing. The manufacturer provides configuration examples to help to start without ruining their tracks. But how much do you cost this compressor? Only $ 200! I think it's difficult to find a compressor that delivers the same quality for less than $ 2000 and much less than $ 1000.
Some microphones Fantastic:
You can not go wrong with Shure SM-57. You can find one for $ 80. It's not sexy, but if I had to settle for a single microphone, that is. One thing about this mic is that you do not need good preamplifier AA. This can easily offset any savings in something more than other more expensive microphones, but I still think everyone should have at least one.If you are looking for a condenser microphone is more than the Shure SM-57 is good business and may find one for about $ 75 if you look hard enough. The need for a good preamp if you want to get the maximum force it, so overall is not exactly a bargaining agreement. But every semi-serious musician should have at least one.
Other Super Microphones
One of my favorites is the Rode NTK. This is a large diaphragm tube (valve) condenser microphone. Any sound source to choose, it will sound awful. On many tracks, as a male baritone voice, hand drums (and burn a lot of them), and percussion instruments (I record many of them too), this microphone sounds out of this world. The price is about $ 500 for the microphone and shock mount is a meeting bargain.I you use most often than microphones that cost several thousand dollars or more.Sometimes which is a bit bright for some applications However, in general, this microphone delivers the goods.
Some diaphragm condenser microphones largest: Studio Projects C1 and C3. The C1 has a cardioid pattern while the C3 only has cardioid, figure eight and omnidirectional. Both of these microphones sound very good - low noise and light colors and pleasant. Not as good as the NTK, but its price (around $ 229 to $ 349 for C1 and the C3) deal with that are great for amateur. But you can not beat the sound you get from these microphones in these T3 price points. The condenser microphone for studio project is supposed to be very good.
Preamplifiers
If you're in the market for a higher quality preamp tube for a good price I'd recommend the Peavey VMP-2 (yes, that Peavey, but it sounds good). This is the preamp tube you'll find only all under one thousand (retail price around $ 700). It's a bit louder (very little) most of the most expensive all tube preamp, but at least half the cost you will not be disappointed. Tip: To get the most out of this preamp do not record all your tracks through it. Use in percussion, bass, or vocals and utilize a solid state preamplifier to the rest of the tracks. Its use in each track adds a bit of mud to your mix.

Thinking of making do with a transistor amplifier? For about $ 400 you can get a 1202 VLZ which has four channels, which is a channel for $ 100, plus get a mixer to boot. Some people say that make the tones are produced when brittle. This if crank too. But keep pills adjustment of the position below 1 pm and you will be rewarded with some nice clean sounds.
If you can spend a little more dollars on a preamp and you do not want a high-channel attempt of Grace 101. For about $ 600 for a channel you get a no frills, clean and open preamplifier. This preamplifierhas sound very musical and I love the percussion (maracas and stuff) and instruments like acoustic guitar. One thing: if you want "hot" this preamp will not give you. 101 Grace duplicate the sound source exactly as the original. You must get their microphones placed to perfection. Once you get the hang of putting their microphones and the quest for good sound source, you will be amazed at the ability of this preamp to capture a performance
The Vintech Neve 1272 can sound without the price tag of $ 3000. Half price, you get two channels that allow you to play classic Neve.
